Accessibility Features for ConnecTV
ConnecTV includes accessibility features that help customers with visual impairments navigate the service using spoken audio feedback and voice controls. These features are available on supported streaming devices and comply with FCC accessibility requirements under the 21st Century Communications and Video Accessibility Act (CVAA).
Supported Accessibility Features
When enabled, audio guidance can provide spoken feedback for:
- Login screens
- Main menus and navigation
- Program Guide (EPG)
- TV Shows and Movies
- Content descriptions
- Buttons and action items
- Recordings
- Media player controls
- Alerts and notifications
- Filters and playback options
Supported Devices
ConnecTV accessibility features are available on:
- Amazon Fire TV (VoiceView)
- Android TV (TalkBack)
- Apple TV (VoiceOver)
How to Enable Accessibility Features
Amazon Fire TV (VoiceView)
- Select Settings.
- Select Accessibility.
- Select Screen Reader (VoiceView).
- Turn Screen Reader On.
- Adjust:
- Reading Speed
- Volume
- Feedback Tone
Android TV (TalkBack)
- From the Home Screen, select Settings.
- Select Accessibility.
- Select Services.
- Select TalkBack.
- Turn TalkBack On.
Adjust Voice Settings
- Go to Settings.
- Select Accessibility Services.
- Select TalkBack Configuration.
- Adjust available voice settings such as volume and speech preferences.
Apple TV (VoiceOver)
Using Siri
- Press and hold the Siri button on your remote.
- Say:
- “Turn VoiceOver On”
- or “Turn VoiceOver Off”
Using Settings
- Open Settings.
- Select General.
- Select Accessibility.
- Select VoiceOver.
- Turn VoiceOver On or Off.
Supported Apple TV Models
- Apple TV 4K
- Apple TV (4th Generation)
- Apple TV (2nd or 3rd Generation) with software version 4.2 or later
