Honoring Heroes: LFT Fiber Reflections on the Inaugural "Run for Heroes" at Moncus Park

At LFT Fiber, we believe in the power of community and the importance of remembering those who have made incredible sacrifices for our freedom.

At LFT Fiber, we believe in the power of community and the importance of remembering those who have made incredible sacrifices for our freedom. This Memorial Day, we had the honor of participating in the inaugural "Run for Heroes" at Moncus Park, a heartfelt event organized by the Acadiana Veteran Alliance (AVA) and the Stuller Family Foundation.

A moving ceremony, followed by a Patriotic family walk/run through Moncus Park, allowed all in attendance to reflect on those who made the ultimate sacrifice.

It was a beautiful morning filled with warmth and connection as veterans, their families, and community leaders, including Governor Jeff Landry, gathered to commemorate the brave individuals from all five branches of the United States military. The atmosphere was reflective and uplifting, as everyone came together to honor the courage and sacrifice of these heroes.

Governor Landry captured the spirit of the day perfectly, stating, “Today we remember the courage and the sacrifice of all those who serve and continue to serve, because if not for those brave individuals, we would not have an opportunity to enjoy today.” His words resonated deeply with all in attendance, reminding us all of the profound impact our veterans have on our lives.

Andrew Ward, founder and CEO of the Acadiana Veteran Alliance, shared his thoughts on the event's significance: “We knew that the Veterans Memorial here at Moncus Park holds immense significance for many people. We wanted to engage with it positively and bring the community together in this beautiful park.” It was heartening to see how the event fostered a sense of unity and remembrance amidst the park backdrop.

The AVA is dedicated to uniting veterans, driving economic development, and providing vital resources for healthcare treatments for those affected by post-traumatic stress. Proceeds from the event support this mission, ensuring that our veterans receive the help they deserve.

Each year, as communities across the nation come together to honor and reflect on those who have made the ultimate sacrifice, LFT Fiber is proud to stand with them. We encourage everyone to take a moment to remember the heroes among us and to support organizations that champion their needs.

Let’s keep the spirit of remembrance alive in our hearts and continue to strengthen the bonds of our community. Together, we can honor our heroes and ensure their legacy lives on. Thank you to everyone who participated in the "Run for Heroes"—your presence made a difference.

Celebrating 20 Years of LFT Fiber: A Journey of Community Empowerment and Connectivity

As we look back on the past two decades, we have much to celebrate. In July of 2005, Lafayette took a bold step into the future of connectivity, refusing to let the challenge of high-speed internet define us in isolation. While many were skeptical about our ability to bridge the digital divide, the spirited residents of Acadiana rose to the occasion, transforming doubt into action. Residents of Lafayette approved of the city's plan to build our own fiber optic network, LFT Fiber.
