Why LFT Fiber Gives Back to Acadiana

LFT Fiber belongs to the people of Lafayette. That local ownership comes with a responsibility to give back. Here's why we support the schools, festivals, arts, sports, and organizations that make Acadiana home.

There's something different about having an internet provider that belongs to the people it serves.

LFT Fiber is owned by the citizens of Lafayette. In 2005, our community voted to build its own fiber network, investing in infrastructure that would serve local homes and businesses for generations.

That decision still shapes how we operate today, including how we give back.

When the community owns the network, the community should see the benefits.

Keeping our investment close to home

Every year, LFT Fiber supports organizations, events, and programs that make Acadiana a better place to live.

You'll find us supporting local school initiatives, the Acadiana Veterans Alliance, local youth mentoring organizations, Lafayette Animal Shelter, celebrating our culture at Festival International de Louisiane and Festivals Acadiens et Créoles, getting behind our sports, arts, and community events, and much more.

These partnerships matter to us because they matter to the people who live here.

They're part of what makes Acadiana the kind of place where people want to raise their families, open businesses, and put down roots.

And as a community-owned utility, we believe we have a responsibility to help keep those things going.

An example: Festivals Acadiens et Créoles

Festivals Acadiens et Créoles is a great reminder of what community support can accomplish.

We were proud to be the presenting sponsor the festival and share the work of local artists and craftspeople, including Augmented Acadiana, an exhibition by Francis Pavy and Drake LeBlanc, and pottery demonstrations from UL Lafayette Ceramics.

It's the kind of partnership we love being part of. Local talent gets a place to share its work, and the community gets to enjoy something that comes straight from Acadiana.

And that's something worth supporting.

Your network. Your community.

We know that being community-owned comes with accountability.

The people of Lafayette deserve to know that the resources of their utility are being put to good use. Our first responsibility will always be delivering dependable fiber internet and maintaining the network our community invested in.

But our commitment to Lafayette reaches beyond the fiber lines.

It includes supporting the people and organizations doing good work here, helping local traditions continue, and being present in the community we serve.

Our employees live here. Our families go to school here. We attend the same festivals, cheer for the same teams, and care about the future of this place.

So when LFT Fiber gives back, we're investing in our own community, alongside the people who own us.

That's what local ownership should look like.

No One Connects Like We Do.

LFT Fiber Brings Draw Alive to Life at the Children’s Museum of Acadiana

A child draws a fish on a piece of paper. A few moments later, that same fish is swimming across a digital underwater world. That’s the idea behind Draw Alive™, a new interactive exhibit at the Children’s Museum of Acadiana that brings art, imagination and technology together in a way kids can experience for themselves. LFT Fiber and S1 Technology helped present and support the exhibit, and Scout Real Estate Co. made it all possible by building the walls around it. The exhibit opened at the museum in September 2026.
