As we look back on the past two decades, we have much to celebrate. In July of 2005, Lafayette took a bold step into the future of connectivity, refusing to let the challenge of high-speed internet define us in isolation. While many were skeptical about our ability to bridge the digital divide, the spirited residents of Acadiana rose to the occasion, transforming doubt into action. Residents of Lafayette approved of the city's plan to build our own fiber optic network, LFT Fiber.

On July 16, 2005, LFT was voted on by the citizens of Lafayette.
